Project Copernicus is a pilot project that will allow students to bring their own computing devices like laptops, netbooks, or cell phones to school to encourage student-centered technology integration. It seeks to understand the implications for learning and instruction. The project is named after Copernicus to represent challenging conventional wisdom. Students will need permission forms and can access the school's wireless network and tools like email and Google Docs. While devices will be secured, the school is not responsible if a device is lost or damaged. Teachers will not require devices and no student will be penalized for not participating.
